Happy New Year 2016, everyone! From Love Street Bites,
the blog wishes you many happy returns and a lot of deliciousness for many,
many days to come! And to start off this year, we present you with another
entry of Jakarta’s street food! It’s gonna be yummy!
Located at the edge of Achmad Dahlan street, Soto Kudus had been around for a long time, since 1981, and is very well known by the locals as one of the best Sotos to eat in Jakarta.
The establishment was managed by Prihardi, who was the
son of Pak Darmawan. He currently is the father of four sons. On top of that, Soto
Kudus had other branches in Wijaya and Tebet. In Wijaya, the branch was located
next to a police school and it was managed by Pak Hardoyo. At Tebet, the branch
was managed by Ibu Ani and it was placed next to Seven Eleven mini mart.
One of its signature dishes is Soto Kudus Blok M, a bowl
of broth with rice, a boiled egg, pieces of chicken meat, condiments such as
fried onion and soy sauce. This is also the customer’s most popular favorite
dish.
As it shows, the restaurant had a successful feat on
drawing in their customers with their delicious, simple cuisine. Each day, Soto
Kudus could sold for up to 100 to 200 portions per day.
