Next to Superindo Sunrise, Kedoya, there was a small cart which the manager is busy preparing for another batch of its popular Bakwan Malang. Before that, Bakwan Malang is used to be sold through a travelling cart in Joglo. After its success, it began to open small branches around Jakarta, the main one is at Superindo Sunrise.

Its owner was Pak Yanto, who was originated from Malang. He is currently a father to three children, whose one if his son, Tony, currently taking care a branch next to SuperIndo Sunrise. His nephew, Sardi, is managing the branch in Superindo Kedoya.

One of the things that makes it so famously good is its warm broth, that if its added with tomato ketchup, could become more savoruy as you taste it. Not to mention the crispy and plump bakwan that made you can’t stop eating it.

Of course, this Bakwan Malang is so delicious that it can sold for up to 100 – 200 bowls per portion in just one day. Try it, you won’t regret it!

Happy New Year 2016, everyone! From Love Street Bites, the blog wishes you many happy returns and a lot of deliciousness for many, many days to come! And to start off this year, we present you with another entry of Jakarta’s street food! It’s gonna be yummy! 

Located at the edge of Achmad Dahlan street, Soto Kudus had been around for a long time, since 1981, and is very well known by the locals as one of the best Sotos to eat in Jakarta.

The establishment was managed by Prihardi, who was the son of Pak Darmawan. He currently is the father of four sons. On top of that, Soto Kudus had other branches in Wijaya and Tebet. In Wijaya, the branch was located next to a police school and it was managed by Pak Hardoyo. At Tebet, the branch was managed by Ibu Ani and it was placed next to Seven Eleven mini mart.

One of its signature dishes is Soto Kudus Blok M, a bowl of broth with rice, a boiled egg, pieces of chicken meat, condiments such as fried onion and soy sauce. This is also the customer’s most popular favorite dish.

As it shows, the restaurant had a successful feat on drawing in their customers with their delicious, simple cuisine. Each day, Soto Kudus could sold for up to 100 to 200 portions per day.
